Charges in Deaths of Kansas City Chiefs Fans
Two men, Jordan Willis and Ivory Carson, have been charged with involuntary manslaughter and drug distribution in connection with the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans. Ricky Johnson Jr., 38, David Harrington, 37, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were found frozen to death in Willis’ backyard on January 9, 2024, after attending a Chiefs playoff game at Willis’ home.

Toxicology reports revealed the men died from a lethal mix of fentanyl and cocaine. Investigators found drugs linked to Willis and Carson, including cocaine with Willis’ DNA and fentanyl with Carson’s. Witnesses claimed Willis provided drugs during the gathering, and text messages showed Carson supplied cocaine to the group.
Family Reactions
David Harrington’s mother, Theresa, expressed frustration with the delayed investigation, saying, “They wouldn’t tell me anything” and accused authorities of not treating the deaths as homicides. Ricky Johnson’s father, Rick, expressed relief, stating, “I’ll be at every court date.”
