Seventeen-year-old Pheobe Johnson’s story ended in heartbreak after weeks of desperate searching. Queensland Police confirmed remains found on June 6 near Good Night Scrub National Park belong to Pheobe, who vanished on May 15 while heading to visit her boyfriend, Levi, in Western Australia.
Police arrested Pheobe’s housemates, James Wood and Tanika Bromley, charging them with murder and interfering with her body. Investigators believe she never made it to the airport and that her remains were moved more than once before being left in remote bushland.

Pheobe’s disappearance shook her family and the community. Levi’s father shared that his son waited at the airport, hoping she’d arrive, unaware of the tragedy unfolding. He described Levi as “traumatized,” still grieving his mother’s earlier death.
Pheobe’s loved ones now face online harassment and blame. Her cousin Whitney and mother Kylie pleaded for peace, reminding everyone, “Phee would be livid with this.” At a candlelight vigil, Kylie asked people to honor her daughter’s legacy with compassion, not anger.
Their message is simple: remember Pheobe for her love, not the pain.
