Philadelphia Sheriff Warns ICE
Sheriff Rochelle Bilal vowed to prosecute any federal officers who commit crimes in her city. She spoke during a press conference about new local enforcement rules.

Bilal sent a very clear message to federal immigration agents. She said they will not be able to hide after a crime. “You don’t want this smoke because we will bring it to you.” Officers will follow orders to detain agents who endanger the public.

Bilal also made comments about President Donald Trump. She claimed he cannot stop federal agents from going to jail. “The criminal in the White House will not be able to keep you from going to jail.” This marks a growing conflict between local leaders and the administration.
Reaction to Shooting
The warning follows the death of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good. ICE agent Jonathan Ross killed her in Minneapolis on January 7. Federal officials say the agent acted in self-defense. However, Bilal called the shooting an event that should not have happened.
Criticizing ICE Tactics
Bilal criticized the specific choices made by federal agents. She stated that real professionals do not shoot at moving cars. Also, she noted that law enforcement professionals do not wear masks. Experts told the Associated Press these tactics defy standard police practices.
