Authorities in Florida say a tragic friendship turned deadly.
Two teenagers from Pace—Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14—now face first-degree murder charges. The victim was 14-year-old Danika Troy.
Danika was last seen by her mother on November 30. However, by the next morning, she was reported missing. Two days later, deputies discovered her body in a wooded area. Investigators also recovered ammunition and signs of a fire.

Sheriff Bob Johnson said Williams allegedly used his mother’s handgun. Moreover, detectives believe the teens lured Danika into the woods. The three knew one another from school, but, according to police, a recent “falling out” preceded the killing.
A witness told investigators the boys planned the attack. Social media tensions may have played a role. However, the sheriff cautioned that the alleged motive does not match all the forensic evidence.
Both suspects are held without bond at the Santa Rosa Juvenile Detention Center. Johnson said he wants them tried as adults.

Meanwhile, the community is grieving. A GoFundMe has raised more than $17,200 to help with funeral costs. In addition, Avalon Baptist Church plans a candlelight vigil to honor Danika’s life.
Loved ones ask for prayers and unity. They hope a public show of compassion will help a wounded community begin to heal.
