Virginia Giuffre, the woman who publicly accused Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, has died at 41 by suicide at her home in Neergabby, Australia. Authorities stated there were “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding her death.
Giuffre, a fierce advocate for abuse survivors, rose to prominence after alleging Epstein trafficked her from the age of 16. In 2021, she sued Prince Andrew, leading to an undisclosed settlement. “The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions,” Giuffre had said.

She founded the nonprofit SOAR to support other survivors and fought bravely despite her personal struggles. Earlier this year, she revealed serious domestic abuse allegations against her husband.
Giuffre’s family described her as a “light for many survivors” and said she “left a marvellous witness of humanity.” Her death follows a history of trauma, including a near-fatal car crash earlier this year.
Attorney Sigrid McCawley said Giuffre was “more than a client — she was a dear friend and inspiration to many.”
