Prince Harry, 39, was reportedly “in tears” after King Charles made a surprising announcement. Since stepping down as senior royals, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have faced ongoing tension with the royal family.
The royal family has recently faced criticism for allegedly disrespecting Harry and Meghan’s son Archie on his fifth birthday. Harry’s relationship with his father and older brother, Prince William, remains strained. Following the release of Harry’s memoir “Spare,” a source told Us Weekly that Prince William “doesn’t even recognise” his younger brother anymore.
During a recent visit to the UK, Harry did not see King Charles, who had a “full programme.” Harry reportedly declined an offer of a royal residence. Royal commentator Tom Quinn suggested the King’s announcement was a deliberate signal to Harry, emphasizing his estrangement from the family.
King Charles appointed Prince William as Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, a role many believed would go to Harry, who cherished his military service. Royal commentator Pandora Forsyth defended the decision, noting Harry knew he would lose such titles upon stepping down. “It’s brutal and of course, it’s going to hit home because it’s very personal for him,” Forsyth said.
