In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry revealed a tense moment between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton ahead of the 2018 royal wedding. The issue stemmed from a comment Meghan made that reportedly left Kate feeling deeply offended.
According to Harry, Meghan had joked that Kate might be experiencing “baby brain” after recently giving birth. Kate didn’t take it lightly, allegedly saying, “You talked about my hormones. We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones!” William then pointed at Meghan and said, “It’s not what’s done here in Britain.”

Meghan responded firmly, asking William to lower his finger. Harry said Meghan explained she never meant harm and would’ve appreciated being told directly if anything was upsetting. “We all hugged. Kind of,” he wrote.
Tension didn’t end there. Harry also shared that Meghan was left in tears after Kate complained about flower girl dresses before the wedding. Kate later apologized with flowers and a card.
The book reveals how cultural differences and stress created rifts—adding another layer to the strained royal relationships.
