Prince William recently took to Instagram to express gratitude to soccer star Rachel Daly for her remarkable career in international soccer. Daly had announced her retirement from international play, prompting William, as President-Designate of the Football Association, to repost Daly’s message with a heartfelt message of his own.
“Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with @lionesses, @racheldaly3,” William wrote, followed by “Plenty more goals for Villa now! W.” Daly, 32, achieved significant success with England’s national team, including leading them to the Euro Cup championship in 2022 and a finals appearance against Spain in the Women’s World Cup, where Spain emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
This post marks William’s first on Instagram since his wife, Kate Middleton, announced her cancer diagnosis. Although Kate did not specify the type of cancer, she revealed that she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” and was “in the early stages of that treatment.” Royal expert Katie Nicholl shared that Kate is finding support in her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, and her siblings, James and Pippa, during this challenging time.
