Royal fans are reflecting on Queen Elizabeth II’s passing as her cause of death is officially revealed. The beloved monarch died peacefully at Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96.

Sir Edward Young, her private secretary, shared new details of her final hours, writing: “Very peaceful. In her sleep. Slipped away. Old age. She wouldn’t have been aware of anything. No pain.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla reportedly spent an hour by her side before her passing. Princess Anne signed the death certificate, which officially listed “old age” as the cause.

In a heartfelt address, Charles said: “To my darling mama… thank you for your love and devotion.” Millions around the world mourned as the Queen was laid to rest during a historic state funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 19, 2022.
