In a 2021 interview after Brandon and Kelly’s separation, Reba said, “I love them both… I can’t play favorites.” She described Brandon as her son, despite being her stepson, and said she was “praying for them both.” Kelly, who remained close to Reba after the divorce, has often credited her as a major influence and friend.
