The lead singer of Life of Agony has announced a major personal change. After living as a transgender woman for more than a decade, the singer says he is returning to life as a man.
Mina Caputo, now 50, shared the update in a video on social media. He said he is reclaiming his birth name, Keith, and believes his gender dysphoria has been resolved. He explained that this decision followed many years of reflection and personal struggle.

Caputo said he stopped hormone treatment several years ago and has scheduled surgery to complete the de-transition process in 2025. He described the change as freeing and said he finally feels at peace with himself. He added that living with gender dysphoria was extremely difficult and that he is relieved that chapter of his life has ended.
Caputo first began identifying as transgender in 2008 and publicly came out in 2011. He said he decided to speak publicly now after repeated comments from followers about his appearance. He wanted to explain his decision in his own words.

Support quickly followed from within the band. Alan Robert, the group’s bassist and co-founder, posted a message praising Caputo’s honesty and said he would stand by him regardless of the path he chooses.
Caputo said his focus now is on health, peace, and moving forward with confidence.
