Buffalo’s Lamont Thomas, a single dad, recently made headlines for adopting five siblings under five years old, adding to his 20-year journey fostering over 30 children. “Every day I think about it, my eyes swell up. All that we endured to make this happen, it was something,” Thomas emotionally shared. He began fostering to help friends, later becoming a certified foster parent. His heartwarming journey includes adopting twins, another child, and his first foster child, Michael.
Years later, when he heard the siblings Zendaya, Jamel, Nakia, Major, and Michaela needed a home, he re-entered the system. Despite challenges and separation, Thomas fought for them. “They deserve to be raised as siblings, and that was my fight,” he expressed. His daughter, LaMonica, praised his selflessness, stating, “He does anything for everybody. He’s really a great man.” Michael, his son, recognized his father’s calling, stating, “Lamont has been a life-saver to me.”
Thomas emphasized the need for more foster parents, saying, “I wanted to make a difference by being a difference, and I love what I do.” His story highlights the transformative power of love and care in the lives of children in need.
