South Korean influencer Lee Da-sol, better known as Daddoa, has died aged 29. Her agency, Leferi Beauty Entertainment, confirmed she passed away on December 16 but did not share the cause of death.
Daddoa rose to fame in 2014 with her makeup, fashion, and diet videos. She quickly became one of the first creators to bring Korean beauty, or “K-beauty,” to global audiences. Her YouTube channel gained over 1.2 million subscribers, and her work inspired millions across Asia.

As her influence grew, Daddoa signed an exclusive contract with China’s video platform Youku. In 2016, Weibo named her “China’s Top Beauty Creator.” She also launched the first Korean beauty store on Taobao, helping export Korean cosmetics directly. Global brands noticed her impact—MAC named her a “Global Beauty Hero,” and Women’s Wear Daily listed her as a “Social Beauty Media Star.”
In earlier videos, Daddoa shared she had faced school bullying. She said makeup became her armor and helped her rebuild confidence. Though she stepped back from social media after 2016, her followers continued to grow. Before her death, she had planned to resume her university studies in Seoul.

Fans worldwide have filled her social media with messages of love and sorrow, thanking her for shaping their beauty journeys.
