State Department Issues Stark Warning To Anyone Mocking Charlie Kirk’s Death

The State Department has issued a strong warning to anyone mocking or celebrating Charlie Kirk’s assassination online. Kirk, 31, was fatally shot last week while speaking at Utah Valley University, sparking nationwide outrage.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau posted on X: “Foreigners who glorify violence are not welcome visitors to our country.” He said consular officials have been directed to take action against anyone praising or joking about Kirk’s death — including potential visa revocations.

President Trump vowed to “find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity,” calling the shooting a radical-left attack before police confirmed a suspect.

Supporters say the crackdown is needed to fight political violence, while critics argue it threatens free speech and targets dissent. “This is a chilling escalation,” one civil liberties advocate said.

Do you think mocking a public figure’s death online should carry real-world consequences — or is this government overreach?
