Still Fighting, Still Hurting

Michael J. Fox has lived far beyond the expectations many once had for him. Decades after his diagnosis, the toll on his body is visible. His movements are more limited, his frame is thinner, and the effects of years of surgeries, injuries, and painful setbacks have become impossible to ignore.

He has endured far more than many people realize. A spinal operation, a tumor, broken bones from sudden falls, and the daily strain of living with a progressive illness have all taken a heavy physical toll. So when he says, “It’s getting tougher,” those words carry the weight of real pain, long nights, and a battle that never fully lets up.

And yet, something in him still refuses to give in.

In Still, he opens the door to the reality of his life in a way few public figures ever do. He does not hide the tremors, the falls, or the exhaustion. But he also does not let those moments define him completely. What shines through just as clearly is his honesty, his resilience, and the sense of humor that continues to carry him forward.

He does not offer easy answers or pretend everything is fine. Instead, he shows something much more powerful — what it means to face hardship as it is, and still choose to live with courage, dignity, and hope.
