The 14-year-olds became Britain’s youngest parents

In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became known as the youngest parents in the United Kingdom.

Their story quickly drew national attention.

April was just 13 when she became pregnant, while Nathan was 14 when their son Jamie was born. The situation sparked a wide public reaction, bringing both concern and sympathy.

Their journey began in South Wales.

The two met while attending school in Caerphilly. April discovered her pregnancy just before turning 14, marking a sudden and life-changing moment for both of them.

Their son faced early challenges.

Jamie was born in November 2010 and required medical care shortly after birth due to a condition affecting his oesophagus. After treatment and several days in hospital, he was able to go home.

Life changed quickly for the young parents.

April continued living with her family while caring for her son, supported by those around her. Nathan remained involved, helping when he could as they adjusted to their new responsibilities.

Over time, their paths separated.

By 2014, April confirmed that they were no longer together and had gone their own ways, focusing on building stability for themselves and their child.

Today, their lives look very different.

Now an adult, April—also known as April Lianna—is a mother of three and shares her life with her partner Jake Jones. Nathan is engaged and has also moved forward, with both continuing to play a role in Jamie’s life.

Their story reflects something important.

Early challenges can shape a life—but they do not define its future.
