Michael Landon, beloved star of Little House on the Prairie, died from pancreatic cancer in 1991. His son, Christopher Landon, was just 16 at the time. Reflecting on that loss, Christopher once said, “I could feel every nerve in my body like it was all made up.”
Years later, Christopher honored his father by living fully and authentically. At 24, he came out as gay, despite fearing judgment. “I went straight to my mom and was like, ‘This is what’s going on. I don’t want to live a double life,’” he revealed. While some family members were shocked, his father had reportedly already suspected the truth.

Now 48, Christopher is a proud dad to two sons, Beau and August, with husband Cody Morris. Though they’ve faced hateful comments online, the couple remains open about their family’s journey, celebrating milestones and encouraging others to live truthfully.
Christopher’s story is one of love, loss, courage — and keeping a promise to a father who once told his wife, “I think he’s gay, but I’m sure he’ll come to that conclusion on his own.”
