Today show cohost Sheinelle Jones is grieving the loss of her husband, Uche Ojeh, who passed away at 45 after battling glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. Savannah Guthrie shared the heartbreaking news on the May 23 broadcast, saying, “There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children.”
Jones later posted, “Thank you, for all of your love and support,” on Instagram.
Uche, a consultant and devoted father, was known for his deep love for his family. “He loved those kids more than anything,” said Craig Melvin. “He was at every soccer game, every concert.”
Described by Al Roker as “wickedly funny” and “humble,” Uche met Sheinelle at 19 while touring Northwestern University. They built a strong, faith-filled life together, raising their three children in love and tradition.
“He caught my eye when I was 19,” Sheinelle once shared. “And here we are.”
As Today anchors honored him, they called Uche a “warrior” — a man of quiet strength who stood by Sheinelle every step of the way.
