The bodybuilding world is mourning the sudden loss of champion athlete Cíntia Goldani, who died at just 36 years old. Her death came only days before she was set to compete in one of Brazil’s biggest competitions.

Event organizers confirmed that Cíntia passed away from a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot that reached her lungs. They explained that the complication stemmed from a recent bout of pneumonia. In their tribute, they called her “an angel in human form” and promised she would always remain part of the Musclecontest family.
Cíntia’s rise in the sport was fast and impressive. She turned professional in 2021 and reached national competition level the following year. She was preparing for a major event on July 20, where many believed she would deliver one of her strongest performances yet.

Her partner, fellow bodybuilder Gustavo Cesar, shared a heartbreaking message online. Posting a photo of her smiling, he wrote that she was “the best human being” he had ever known. He said he would thank her every day when he watched the sunset, remembering the joy she brought into his life.
Cíntia also inspired thousands through her Instagram posts, where she shared motivation, training tips, and her positive outlook. Her final message read, “Excellence is a habit,” a line that now feels even more meaningful. After her passing, fans filled her page with tributes, calling her “an inspiration” and “a bright light.”
Beyond competing, Cíntia worked as a posing coach, helping new athletes find confidence in the sport. Her sudden loss leaves a deep emptiness in a community that adored her.
