A North Queensland community is mourning the loss of 13-year-old Clarrissa Nicholson, who tragically ended her life earlier this month. The schoolgirl had shared a suicide awareness post on TikTok just a day before her passing.
Her devastated mother, Selena, discovered her daughter at their Mount Low home on September 2. “She always had a smile on her face,” Ms Nicholson said, recalling her daughter’s kindness and dreams of becoming a teacher or midwife.

Friends and classmates at Northern Beaches State High School filled social media with heartfelt tributes. “You meant the world to me. I miss you every second,” one friend wrote. Another added, “You helped me in so many ways. I couldn’t have asked for a better friend.”
More than 200 mourners attended Clarrissa’s funeral at Holy Trinity Church, where loved ones signed her coffin with messages of love. Her grandmother urged others to remember: “Bullying in any form is never okay. One simple question can help save someone’s life.”
