Nearly two years after the tragic Titan sub disaster, chilling new details have emerged—including the final words sent before the vessel imploded.
The OceanGate sub vanished on June 18, 2023, while descending to the Titanic wreck, about 12,500 feet below the surface. Aboard were OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, explorer Paul-Henri Nargeolet, billionaire Hamish Harding, and father-son duo Shahzada and Suleman Dawood. Days later, debris confirmed the sub had suffered a “catastrophic implosion,” killing all five instantly.
During the dive, the sub exchanged messages with its support ship, Polar Prince. As communication grew patchy, one final message from Titan read: “All good here.” After that, silence.
In a new BBC documentary, Implosion: The Titanic Sub Disaster, unseen footage reveals Stockton Rush’s wife, Wendy, heard a loud “bang” on the support ship. She was unaware it was the sound of the implosion and thought the mission was continuing after receiving a delayed message from the sub.
The US Coast Guard’s investigation continues, with this haunting final communication shedding light on the crew’s final, unaware moments.
