The Kennedy Center Honors brought both celebration and surprise this weekend as President Donald Trump welcomed the 2025 honorees to the White House. Seven artists were recognized for their influence on American culture, yet much of the public conversation soon shifted toward one familiar face.
The ceremony began on December 6 with President Trump presenting the traditional medals. He praised this year’s group—among them Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, George Strait, Michael Crawford, and the band Kiss—as an exceptionally accomplished class.

However, once photos appeared online, viewers immediately focused on Stallone. He arrived in a black tuxedo, his medallion resting neatly against his lapel, and a cane in hand. Moreover, his facial appearance sparked wide speculation. Many wondered whether he had undergone cosmetic procedures, and social media quickly filled with questions and concern.
Stallone addressed the cane the following evening at the gala, explaining that years of back surgeries had taken their toll. Even so, he moved with steady determination and shared the evening with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, who accompanied him on the red carpet.

The Kennedy Center later released its official group portrait, prompting warm responses from fans who applauded the honorees’ achievements. Many described them as role models whose work continues to inspire.

This year’s medal, newly designed by Tiffany & Co., features a gold disc suspended from a navy ribbon. As he presented it, President Trump highlighted each artist’s lasting contribution, noting that their creations helped shape entire musical and theatrical traditions.
