Donald Trump has named former MTV reality star Sean Duffy as the interim head of NASA. Duffy, known for appearing on The Real World: Boston in the late ’90s, once made headlines for doing a striptease in a hotel room with only a towel.
Despite his racy past, Duffy built a solid political career—serving as district attorney, a U.S. Congressman (2010–2019), and most recently as Transport Secretary, a role Trump praised for “rebuilding our roads and bridges.” On his new appointment, Duffy tweeted: “Honored to accept this mission. Time to take over space. Let’s launch.”

The move comes after Trump withdrew his earlier NASA nominee, billionaire Jared Isaacman, citing ties to Elon Musk and calling him a “blue-blooded Democrat.” Trump stated it was “inappropriate” for someone so close to Musk to lead NASA.
Duffy, now 53, is married to Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy. The couple met on a reality show and have nine children. His past antics may raise eyebrows, but Trump insists he’s ready to lead “the ever more important Space Agency.”
