President Donald Trump has shared the last request made by conservative activist Charlie Kirk before his death earlier this month. Speaking at a memorial in Arizona, Trump said Kirk urged him to “save Chicago,” the city where he grew up.
“We owe Charlie a profound and eternal debt of gratitude,” Trump told the crowd. He praised Kirk for promoting freedom, justice, and faith across the nation. Trump described him as a man who “lived boldly and argued brilliantly without apology.”

The president also comforted Kirk’s parents and widow, Erika, saying no words could fill the void left behind. He pledged to honor Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, calling him “eternal” in spirit. “The gun was pointed at him, but the bullet was aimed at every one of us,” Trump said.
Tens of thousands gathered at State Farm Stadium to honor Kirk, with Elon Musk joining Trump at the memorial. The event showed unity and grief for a man Trump believed could have one day been president.
Do you think Charlie Kirk’s legacy will continue to shape American politics?
