Donald Trump has sparked backlash after harshly criticizing Joe Biden amid his aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis.
On May 18, Biden’s office revealed he had metastatic prostate cancer, describing it as “aggressive” but treatable due to hormone sensitivity. Days later, Biden thanked supporters on X, writing, “Cancer touches us all… we are strongest in the broken places.”
Trump initially shared well wishes, saying, “Melania and I… wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.” But in a May 30 press conference, his tone changed drastically. Trump told reporters, “Don’t feel so sorry [for Biden], because he’s vicious… he hurt a lot of people.”
He further claimed the public “should’ve been told long ago” about the diagnosis. His comments stirred controversy, with critics accusing him of politicizing Biden’s illness.
A Biden spokesperson denied any delay, stating Biden had no prior cancer diagnosis before this announcement. Biden’s team has not responded directly to Trump’s latest remarks.
Trump’s comments reflect rising tensions as both men prepare for a possible 2024 rematch.
