Britney Spears shocked fans with a recent Instagram post claiming she adopted a baby girl named Lennon London Spears. But despite the buzz, it turns out the pop icon may have been joking.
The 43-year-old singer shared a playful video of herself dancing in a pink one-piece, black boots, and a hat. In the caption, she casually wrote, “I adopted a beautiful baby girl!!! Her name is Lennon London Spears!!!” She also mentioned the child wore a dress with the phrase: “I’M NEW HERE!!! SO PLEASE STOP TALKING TRASH AMERICA!!!”
The announcement immediately stirred social media, with fans reacting in disbelief and excitement. However, many began to question the truth behind the post—especially considering Britney’s history of trolling followers and her use of winking and laughing emojis.

According to Rolling Stone, TMZ, and E! News, Spears did not adopt a child. The over-the-top emojis were likely a giveaway that it was all in good fun. Some speculated she may have adopted a new pet instead—but TMZ reported there’s no new animal in her life either.
Currently, Britney has been spending more time reconnecting with her real children, Sean (19) and Jayden (18), whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline. After years of separation during her conservatorship, she recently began rebuilding her relationship with them—especially her youngest, whom she saw again for the first time in two years last December.
