The man accused of murdering 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska has revealed his chilling “motive” from jail. Decarlos Brown Jr, 34, allegedly stabbed Zarutska three times in the neck while she rode a North Carolina train.
In an audio call shared by his sister, Brown claimed the government implanted “materials” in his brain and was “controlling” his actions. “I don’t even know the lady… Why would somebody stab somebody for no reason?” he asked.
Brown’s sister says the family had begged doctors for years to admit him for psychiatric treatment, warning he was a danger. “He was not safe for society,” she said, blaming the state for releasing him repeatedly after short hospital stays.
The attack shocked America, as Zarutska had come to the U.S. seeking safety and a new beginning. Former President Trump has called for Brown to face the death penalty.
