Urgent Warning Issued As Popular Drink Leaves Toddler Unresponsive

It was meant to be a fun day — balloons, laughter, and a simple slushy treat.
But within minutes, 4-year-old Marnie turned pale and stopped responding.

Her mother, Kim Moore, remembers the horror. “She was floppy, completely unconscious. I was shaking her, trying to wake her up — nothing.”

Rushed to the hospital, doctors discovered dangerously low blood sugar — caused by the refillable slushy she’d just sipped. They suspect glycerol toxicity, a reaction linked to certain sweeteners used in the icy drink.

“She screamed in agony when she woke up,” Kim said. “Looking back, she had every symptom. I’ll never forget it.”

Now 9, Marnie has fully recovered — but her mom won’t let her near a slushy again. Experts are warning parents: children under 8 shouldn’t drink slushies containing glycerol, after 21 kids were reported sick.

“So many places hand them out like candy,” Kim said. “You think it’s harmless — until it isn’t.”

Sometimes, the smallest treats hide the biggest dangers. 💔
