Channel 4’s new documentary 1000 Men and Me: The Bonnie Blue Story has stirred strong reactions online. The program follows 26-year-old adult performer Bonnie Blue, who claims she had sex with over 1,000 men in just 12 hours. Viewers criticized the show’s graphic content and timing.
Some took to social media to call the documentary “disgusting” and “irresponsible,” especially since it aired shortly after the UK’s Online Safety Act took effect. This law now requires age verification on adult websites to protect minors. “Bonnie Blue gets a TV doc, but we need IDs to access X-rated content?” one user asked.

Channel 4 defended the broadcast, saying, “The explicit content is editorially justified… and is presented in a non-gratuitous manner.” They added that the show aired after the 9pm watershed and followed all Ofcom rules.
While Channel 4 does not rely on public funds like the BBC, critics argue this documentary crosses a line. As one viewer wrote, “There’s nothing wrong with sex on film, but this just seems so extreme.”
