A Medical Mystery
Kelsi Mickelson visited a doctor at age 15. The doctor found an incredibly small vaginal opening. A tampon or pinky finger could not fit inside. The doctor told Kelsi she could not have sex.
Finding Out
Kelsi later got a boyfriend and explained her condition. They stayed together but avoided intercourse. Later, they spent a night “fooling around” without penetration. Kelsi soon missed her period and took a test. She was shocked to find she was pregnant.
Losing Friends
Kelsi came from a very religious background. Many friends called her a liar for her story. They did not believe she was still a virgin. Kelsi said: “It was actually a very difficult time in my life.”
The Birth
Doctors feared Kelsi could not deliver the baby. However, she gave birth in September 2009. The baby girl weighed 6lbs 11oz and was named Zoe. The birth process naturally fixed Kelsi’s medical issue. Kelsi said: “So when I say I got pregnant without having sex, I literally got pregnant without having sex.”
Life Now
Kelsi now has five children in total. Three of those pregnancies happened while she used an IUD. She can now have sex without any pain. Finally, she is sharing her story to explain the miracle.
