Fans were moved to tears after spotting a heartfelt tribute to the late Cameron Boyce in Happy Gilmore 2. The young Disney star, who died in 2019 at just 20 years old, had previously worked with Adam Sandler in Grown Ups and became a beloved part of Sandler’s extended on-screen family.
Sandler, 58, honored Boyce in the sequel to his 1996 hit, released on Netflix on July 25. In an earlier Instagram post after Boyce’s passing, Sandler wrote: “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us. All our hearts are broken.”

Boyce, known for roles in Descendants, Jessie, and Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything, died from sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP), a condition his family later spoke about publicly.
In his memory, Boyce’s parents created The Cameron Boyce Foundation to raise awareness and fund epilepsy research. Fans continue to remember him as a bright, kind, and talented star gone far too soon.
