Jimmy Kimmel has been taken off the air “indefinitely” after his monologue about Charlie Kirk’s assassination sparked outrage. ABC confirmed that Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be replaced “for the foreseeable future.”
During Monday’s episode, Kimmel suggested the alleged shooter was a conservative, despite investigators saying he held far-left beliefs. He accused the “MAGA gang” of using the murder to score political points. Kimmel also mocked President Trump’s reaction, saying, “This is not how an adult grieves… This is how a 4-year-old mourns a goldfish.”
Kimmel went further, joking about Trump’s $200 million White House ballroom project. “By the time he’s out of office, the White House will have slot machines and a water slide,” he quipped.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr blasted the comments as “some of the sickest conduct possible” and hinted at an investigation. Kimmel was reportedly preparing to address the backlash before ABC pulled the show.
Do you think Kimmel’s suspension is justified — or a worrying attack on free speech?
