A terrifying moment unfolded aboard the Disney Dream when a young girl fell from the fourth deck—roughly 20 feet above the ocean. Without hesitation, her father jumped in after her, quickly being hailed a hero by fellow passengers.
One passenger, Chandler, described hearing “some kind of commotion,” followed by “an awful scream” and a loud splash. “It sounded like hitting pavement,” they told People. The incident occurred on June 29 as the ship sailed between Nassau and Grand Bahama Island.

Just 15 seconds after the fall, the ship’s crew announced “MOB port side” (man overboard) over the speakers. The rescue team acted fast, pulling both father and daughter from the water within minutes—at approximately 11:47 a.m.
In a cruise fan Facebook group, one passenger wrote, “Thankfully the DCL rescue team was on it immediately and both were saved!” Disney Cruise Line praised its crew’s “exceptional skills and prompt actions,” which ensured the pair’s safe return.
