You study for years, work hard, and dream of that first real job. But what happens when no one gives you a chance?
For Shakira Coldwell, a 23-year-old from Australia’s Gold Coast, that dream has turned into heartbreak. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in health, she’s applied to over 100 jobs — and only three even replied. “It’s so hard to get a job with no experience,” she said. “But how can I get experience if no one will employ me?”

Despite trying everything — even applying for roles in hospitality and at a theme park — Shakira says the constant rejection has left her feeling defeated. “I’m not trying to insult anyone,” she explained. “But if I can’t even get a job that doesn’t need a degree… what was all this for?”
Her emotional video struck a nerve online, with thousands sharing similar struggles. One user wrote, “I’ve been applying for two years.” Another said, “It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”

For a generation raised to believe education was the key to success, Shakira’s story hits hard. It’s not just about jobs — it’s about feeling unseen, unheard, and wondering if the system ever truly cared.
