A TikTok creator has sparked a heated debate after criticizing a well-known Essex restaurant, saying it “doesn’t cater for vegans.”
In her video, Amie-Beth explains she planned a dressed-up night out at Sheesh, a venue she describes as popular for its celebrity crowd and upbeat atmosphere. She wanted to meet a friend, enjoy the “vibes,” and have a good meal.
But there was a problem: her friend is vegan.

Amie-Beth says that on a previous visit, staff told her friend she couldn’t order only side dishes because there were no vegan mains. To avoid the same issue, she claims she called ahead to ask if the policy had changed and whether her friend could order sides instead.
She alleges the response on the phone was blunt and dismissive, including a comment that they don’t cater for vegans and questioning why a vegan would want to eat there.
The clip quickly went viral, with viewers split in the comments.
Some defended the restaurant, arguing that businesses don’t have to adjust their menus for every dietary choice—especially if the food is largely meat-focused.
Others backed Amie-Beth, saying vegan options are now a basic expectation. She also noted that many Turkish restaurants offer plant-based dishes like falafel, and even steakhouses often include vegan meals.
The outlet that reported the video said it contacted the restaurant for a comment but did not receive a reply.
