Zoë Kravitz isn’t holding back when it comes to the hit sitcom Friends.
The 90s show remains one of the most streamed series ever, with millions still watching worldwide. But Kravitz believes many of its jokes haven’t aged well. “Super homophobic jokes on mainstream television… it’s wild,” she told PEOPLE.
While promoting her new movie Caught Stealing, set in the 1990s, Kravitz admitted she feels both nostalgic and critical about that era. “The fashion, the music, New York City—it was so cool,” she said. But she also stressed that some comedy from that time “should stay in the 90s.”

Even Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman has admitted regret. “Every time I watch an episode, there’s something I wish I could have changed,” she confessed.
Fans may still love Friends, but Kravitz’s comments highlight how humor and culture evolve. It raises a bigger question: should some classics be left untouched in the past?
