Ellen was thrilled when her daughter, Lisa, accepted her boyfriend Ric’s proposal. However, things took a turn for the worse after meeting Ric’s parents. Lisa had received a house as a graduation gift from Ellen and her husband, David. When Ric moved in, everything seemed fine, but trouble began when the families met for a dinner.
During the dinner, David overheard Ric’s parents plotting to exclude them from the wedding while expecting them to foot the bill. Shocked, Ellen visited Lisa’s home the next day, only to be turned away by Ric’s mother, who claimed, “Lisa is like us now. Let us take over. But we’ll send you your part of the bill for the wedding.”
Ric’s parents had moved in, assuming control of the house. However, Ellen revealed that the house was still in her name and gave Lisa ten days to move out. In the end, Ellen and David sold the house, forcing Ric’s family out and teaching them a lesson in boundaries.
Lisa, now living in a small apartment, remains engaged to Ric. Meanwhile, Ellen and David used the house sale proceeds to buy a car for their younger daughter, Leah.
