Yankees Star Brett Gardner’s Son Dies on Family Vacation

Former New York Yankees star Brett Gardner has announced the tragic death of his 14-year-old son, Miller, while on a family vacation in Costa Rica.

Family’s Heartbreaking Announcement

Gardner and his wife, Jessica, shared the devastating news through the Yankees’ official X account: “With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of our youngest son, Miller. He was 14 years old and has left us far too soon after falling ill along with several other family members while on vacation. We have so many questions and so few answers at this point, but we do know that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, March 21st.”

Tributes and Condolences

Fans and fellow athletes expressed their sorrow. “The saddest statement a parent has to make. My deepest condolences to Brett and his beautiful family. Just heartbreaking,” one person wrote. Another added, “So sorry to hear this. Unimaginable to lose a child.”

Investigation Ongoing

The family had been vacationing in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, when they fell ill, possibly due to food poisoning. Authorities are awaiting toxicology results to confirm the cause of death.

Yankees’ Statement

The Yankees released a heartfelt message: “Our hearts are heavy, and the Yankees family is filled with grief after learning of the passing of Miller Gardner. Words feel insignificant and insufficient in trying to describe such an unimaginable loss.”

The Gardner family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
