Oliver Hudson recently opened up about his childhood “trauma” stemming from being under the care of his mother, Goldie Hawn. Speaking on his podcast, “Sibling Revelry,” Oliver acknowledged his mixed feelings, saying, “My mother was the one that I had almost the most trauma about, interestingly enough, because she was my primary caregiver.”
Despite acknowledging Hawn as an “amazing mother,” Oliver struggled with her demanding work schedule and personal choices, including her romantic relationships. He explained, “This is my own perception as a child who didn’t have a dad and needed her to be there.” Hawn, who mainly raised Oliver and his sister Kate after her divorce, later found long-term love with Kurt Russell.
To cope with his upbringing, Oliver underwent the Hoffman Process, which provided insight and forgiveness towards his parents. Reflecting on his relationship with his father, Oliver emphasized the importance of understanding generational patterns, considering what he’s passing on to his own children. Currently married with three kids, Oliver is working on rebuilding his relationship with his father, Bill Hudson.
