Sydney-based landscaper Shianne Foxx, known online as the ‘bikini tradie,’ is calling out workplace double standards, arguing that she should be allowed to work topless like her male coworkers on hot days. After her boss told her it would be a “distraction,” she took to social media to express her frustration.
“It’s a f*ing 40-degree day today, and I’m the one who has to wear my shirt, while all the boys on the site don’t have to wear theirs,” Foxx said in a TikTok video. “It’s a double standard, it’s sist, and I’m actually really over it.”

Her video sparked debate, with some supporting her stance while others raised concerns about workplace distractions. In an interview with News.com.au, Foxx defended her position: “I don’t think it should be ‘distracting’ because, at the end of the day, they’re just a natural thing.”
While some argue that rules should be challenged, others worry about potential workplace disruptions. Despite the controversy, Foxx’s stand has fueled a broader discussion on gender equality in male-dominated industries.
