When the temperature hits 40°C, everyone on the job feels it.
But only some get to take their shirts off.
Shianne Foxx, a Sydney landscaper nicknamed “The Bikini Tradie,” has stirred up a fiery debate online. After her boss told her she couldn’t work topless — even though her male coworkers could — she decided she’d had enough.
“It’s a double standard, it’s sexist, and I’m over it,” she said in a viral TikTok video that’s now sparked thousands of comments. “They’re just natural. If that’s distracting, maybe people need to grow up.”
Some applauded her courage, saying it’s about fairness, not shock value. “She’s doing the same work, under the same heat — why not the same rules?” one supporter wrote.
Others disagreed, worrying it might cause distractions or even accidents at job sites. Still, Shianne’s point struck a nerve far beyond her workplace.
Her story isn’t just about shirts or rules — it’s about equality, respect, and the quiet courage to challenge what’s “always been.”
Because sometimes, change starts with one brave voice under a blazing sun. ☀️
