Bud Light has responded to accusations from social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney, who claimed the company did not support her. Mulvaney, 26, known for her gender transition journey on TikTok, faced backlash after partnering with Bud Light to promote a March Madness contest.
Despite the backlash, Bud Light did not reach out to Mulvaney during this challenging time, leading her to express her disappointment on Instagram. She shared, “For a company to hire a trans person and then not publicly stand by them is worse than not hiring a trans person at all.”
In response, Bud Light’s parent company, Anheuser Busch, stated, “We remain committed to the programs and partnerships we have forged over decades with organizations across a number of communities, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.” However, they did not directly mention Mulvaney in their statement.
Mulvaney’s experience highlights the challenges faced by trans individuals, emphasizing the need for genuine support and understanding from all quarters.
