Sophia Hutchins, 29, died in a devastating ATV crash on July 2 near Caitlyn Jenner’s Malibu home. According to TMZ, her quad struck a moving car before plunging 350 feet down a ravine. Emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene. The two people in the other vehicle were unharmed.
Hutchins, a transgender entrepreneur, met Jenner in 2015 during the Olympian’s gender transition. They quickly formed a deep connection. “We have so much in common… we challenge each other,” she once shared. Jenner previously described her as “my best friend, family and confidant.”

A Pepperdine University graduate, Hutchins was CEO of LUMASOL, a health-tech company, and also led the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, supporting LGBTQ+ rights and services like healthcare and suicide prevention.
Jenner has not publicly commented on Hutchins’ death. As of now, further details from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office are pending. Hutchins leaves behind a legacy of advocacy, innovation, and friendship.
