Daredevil Climbs Greased Tower in Dubai
Free climber Adam Lockwood scaled a 390-meter crane atop the Il Primo skyscraper near the Burj Khalifa. Sharing his experience on YouTube, he revealed how he tricked security using Google Translate: “He showed me the stairs, watched me walk down a floor, and left. I changed to the opposite stairwell and carried on going up, my blag worked.”
Unexpected Danger
After sneaking past workers for two hours, Lockwood reached the top, only to face another issue—his GoPro battery was nearly dead. As he performed stunts like hanging by one hand, he realized the crane was coated in grease. “It feels surreal to be suspended that high with no safety… my brain is blank, my heartbeat doesn’t go up, and it feels almost peaceful.”

Escape and Reflection
Blending in with workers, he slipped away unnoticed. Looking back, Lockwood said, “This is the most incredible thing I’ve done.” He added, “I feel like it was definitely worth the risk.”
