Donald Trump is under fire for his bizarre reason for ditching the G7 summit early. The annual meeting, attended by leaders from the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Japan, aims to tackle global issues. But Trump left Canada on June 16, skipping a key joint statement urging calm in the Middle East.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claimed he departed because of urgent Middle East matters. Trump told the host, Canada’s prime minister, “I wish I could stay… but they understand, this is big stuff.”

However, Trump then posted on Truth Social slamming French President Emmanuel Macron for saying he left to work on a ceasefire. “Wrong!… It’s much bigger than that. Stay tuned!” Trump wrote, sparking outrage online.
Critics called his exit ‘pathetic’ and mocked him for insulting allies. Some joked he probably left to play golf instead of negotiating peace. His follow-up posts threatening Iran only fueled the backlash. Many now question if his sudden departure achieved anything at all.
