Harrison Ford, known for his legendary roles in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Blade Runner, was forced to withdraw as an Oscars presenter after being diagnosed with shingles. The illness, caused by the varicella-zoster virus, leads to a painful rash. Entertainment Weekly reports that despite the diagnosis, Ford is “doing ok” physically.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their support. One wrote, “My dad had the same thing. He told me that it was the most painful experience in his lifetime.” Another added, “Many prayers for comfort and complete healing!”

Despite health setbacks, Ford has no plans to retire. In a 2023 interview, he stated, “I don’t do well when I don’t have work… I love to feel useful. It’s my Jones, I want to be helpful.”
Just a week before the Oscars, Ford attended the 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards, appearing in good spirits. While he had to miss this year’s Academy Awards, fans remain hopeful for his swift recovery and future return to the spotlight.
