He Shook Woodstock With One Song — Now the Legendary Singer Has Died at 84
Musician Country Joe McDonald, lead singer of Country Joe and the Fish, has died at age 84 after battling Parkinson’s disease.
McDonald was best known for the anti–Vietnam War song I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag, famously performed at the Woodstock Festival.
His performance became one of the defining moments of the protest-era music movement.
Beyond music, McDonald remained active in social causes and veterans’ support for decades.
