I Kicked My Aunt Out of My Wedding after She Traveled across the World to Attend It

A French bride faced a wedding dilemma when her aunt insisted on bringing uninvited guests to her intimate ceremony in a South African savanna reserve. Despite clear invitations for only 30 people, including 13 from France, the aunt booked tickets for her husband and child without approval. The bride compromised by allowing them to attend the pool party but not the ceremony.

During the wedding, the aunt disregarded this agreement, bringing her family to the dinner, causing a confrontation. The bride, supported by her sister, stood firm, denying them further access. Despite her mother’s protests, the bride asserted her right to manage her own wedding, which she and her husband had funded.

The bride sought validation online, receiving mixed reactions. Some criticized her for restricting plus-ones at a destination wedding, while others supported her decision to maintain the event’s intimacy. The incident highlighted tensions between family expectations and personal boundaries in wedding planning.
