Jamie Lee Curtis, Hollywood royalty, and her husband, Christopher Guest, have chosen to call a 100-year-old house their home for the past 30 years. Celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary in December 2023, the couple raised their children, Annie and Ruby, in this cherished space.
Beyond her acting success in classics like “Halloween” and “Freaky Friday,” Curtis is also a celebrated children’s book author. Inspired by her children with Guest, she penned books like “Tell Me Again About The Night I Was Born” and “Today I Feel Silly and Other Moods That Make My Day.”
Curtis and Guest’s enduring marriage began in 1984. Curtis reminisces, “My hand in his. Then and now. Connected through our children and family and friends it became the links in our human emotional chain.” She recalls the moment she knew she’d marry Guest, pointing at his picture in a 1984 Rolling Stone issue.
In 1992, the couple found their dream home, a 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival, blending traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Collaborating with architect Michael B. Lehrer, they transformed the space into an airy haven, emphasizing family and blending old and new seamlessly.
Now empty-nesters, Curtis and Guest find comfort in their enduring love. Their daughters, Annie and Ruby, have embarked on their own journeys, with Curtis proudly officiating Ruby’s wedding in 2022. The 100-year-old house stands as a testament to their decades-long love story, filled with memories, art, and scuff marks.
