Iran issues direct assassination threat to Trump in chilling response to ongoing attacks
Donald Trump previously said he has “left instructions” on how the United States should respond if Iran attempts to assassinate him.
Tensions escalated after the death of Ali Khamenei during U.S. and Israeli airstrikes. Iranian officials later issued strong warnings toward Trump.
Trump said that if Iran or its allies carried out such an attack, the response would be devastating.
The conflict has also increased pressure around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for about 20% of global oil shipments, where shipping traffic has dropped and oil prices have surged.
